Happy Halloween!

This year for Halloween, Jack was a lion!

 Jack celebrated by wearing his costume to daycare, where he "trick or treated" to the other classrooms and brought back a little bag of candy... which Mama and Dada ate :)  He's only almost 15 months, he doesn't need sugar!

That night James dressed up in his cowboy costume to answer our door.  This year was really fun for us-- it was our first year in a house and our first year getting trick or treaters!  (Un)fortunately, I bought just the perfect amount of candy and we didn't run out or have leftovers.  I kind of wanted extras to snack on later... oh well, I did have a few pieces of Jack's candy!  Jack was cute with the trick or treaters.  He learned to race to the door whenever the doorbell rang. Then, he would shyly peek around the door when we answered it, but as the trick or treaters left he would either wave or blow a kiss!

We took our little lion over to our next door neighbor's house to show off his costume. Our neighbors have this really cool lion in their front yard.  A few years ago when The Lion King Musical was touring in Appleton, local artists painted a bunch of these large concrete lions which were displayed around Appleton.  Then, they were auctioned off for charity (kind of like the cows that decorated Chicago years ago).  Our neighbor is an artist and she painted one, and now it is in their front yard!  It is very unique to live next to "the house with the lion in front"!

Happy Halloween, Lion Cub!  Maybe next year we will trick or treat for the first time with your baby sister or brother!
