Jack's Second Birthday

At first I had this post at the end of the last one.. but that made for a very long read!

Since Jack is so into animals right now, we decided to take him to the zoo for his birthday.  We chose the NEW Zoo (Northeast Wisconsin) which is just outside of Green Bay. It was perfect-- not a very large zoo, but with enough animals to keep his attention span for about 3 hours.

We walked into the zoo and he saw the lion sign and said, "Lion King!"  When he saw an ACTUAL lion he was even more excited. 

It was a really fun day walking around with Jack and looking at the animals.  If he didn't know the animal, we'd tell him what it was and then he'd repeat it after us, very slowly.  It was cute.  One of my favorite moments was when he saw an alligator and said "Alligator's chomping in there!" and started making the "chomping motion"  (clapping his hands together with arm outstretched). 

Jack was able to feed the giraffes, which he really liked!  He was giggling the whole time.

There was also a little farm section of the zoo where he got to feed a llama, alpaca, and goats.  Although every animal was a "goat", according to Jack. 

One of his favorites was the peacocks which roamed around free.  Once he learned their name he liked chasing them around to get a better look.

Later that night, we had dinner and birthday cake for the birthday boy.  He was not as messy this year, but still enjoyed his cake!
