On January 14th, 2012 Jack was welcomed into the Catholic church! We had a baptism ceremony for him at my childhood parish, St. Anne's, in Barrington, IL.
We asked my brother, Scott, and James's sister, Laura, to be Jack's godparents. We love them very much and know that they will do a great job helping raise Jack in the Christian faith.
Father Bob Cross performed the ceremony. He is a priest in our family who has performed many marriages and baptisms in my family. We feel so fortunate that Jack is now one of the babies he has baptized!
Jack wore a baptism gown that goes back 4 generations. It was first worn by my Grandma Doherty and her siblings (it's about 125 years old!)

After the ceremony, my parents hosted a luncheon at their house. Jack got lots of attention and great presents from his family! Thank you everyone who was a part of our special day, and thanks to those who couldn't be there in person, but who were with us in spirit!
